I don’t have a lot to say about this release. It’s quite a dark toned palette. I do think it fits it’s name though. Sometimes I don’t understand why a palette is needed. I’m not dissing this brand or any brands really, but when brands offer a lot of single eye shadows, I don’t see palettes as particularly necessary. Perhaps, it’s the idea of a good bundle at a good price, but I’m just getting to a point where I know palettes like this will be purchased by people who all ready have a lot of makeup; it is not realistic for the average consumer. Palettes like this are a tad unnecessary and will likely not become a staple.
One of the only good things a palette can do is put a handful of new or old single shadows together and allow the purchaser to sample them. This would give them the ability to know which ones they may want to purchase in the future. I am only speaking in regards to Jane or Joe Schmo here, not MUAs. I know that brands probably see palettes as more affordable overall, but it doesn’t provide a future. As stated, this brand has loads of single shadows, so this thought isn’t majorly directed at them because they are not extremely guilty of creating palettes with no future. They often put their single shadows into byop style releases, but I just don’t agree with palettes above 12 pans anymore unless created by the consumer. Just my unsolicited opinion.
That being said, I would love for brands to come out with a best sellers palette. Give me and others some where to begin!
