So, here’s the thing. I am at a point in my life where I don’t have a ton of time. I own a small business and last year I returned to school for Computer Science/Engineering which has been a very heavy load. Think high level calculus, physics, and programming classes. I also have a son in middle school.
When I created this website, I didn’t wear a ton of makeup, but I felt like there was no where online where someone could just find a full list of makeup brands, so that was my goal. I wanted to explore what was out there. I am at a point in my life that I just rarely ever wear makeup. Mascara and lip oil is about all when I do. I don’t even wear foundation. I used to love eye shadow until I realized talc eye shadow was the cause of my itchy eyes. I don’t know if you noticed, but most brands use talc in their eye shadows which really took a lot of my passion away for makeup.
All of this being said, I want to remove the blog aspect from this site. I have nothing to add to the conversation anymore. I am on the fence about keeping the site because I don’t support the overconsumption that has been worsened by the makeup industry.
I also plan to most likely remove all affiliate links from the site and just leave the google ads. I will maintain the special advent section when that time of the year comes and maybe the collab area if I have time. Additionally, if I have time, I may add a skincare section. I like skincare 10x more than makeup, and it’s been that way from the beginning. I have sensitive, dry, acne prone skin. I am not adventurous with skincare, though, because of my skin type. I’m allergic to avocado which, unfortunately, is used by brands in surprise ways just to add “a treat” for the skin. For me, it destroys my skin for a few weeks with one use.
All of these reasons are why I am revamping the site to make it easier to maintain. Worse case scenario it closes all together.
