I feel really weird about Pride Month in regards to makeup brands because sometimes it feels less like support and more of a way to profit off of it. Here are the brands celebrating Pride this month. I will be ranking the brands by effort and clarity of support. This post will be updated through out the month.
- MAC Cosmetics – If you love makeup and don’t know about Viva Glam, girl where have you been? 100% of the purchase of Viva Glam lipsticks go back to women, the LGBTQ+, and communities affected by HIV/AIDS. Over $500,000,000 raised so far!! Equality for all. Celebrating Pride this year? Book a free beauty appointment. (I swear to God this isn’t sponsored. lol)
- Milk Makeup – 1% ongoing, year around pledge to The Center. They will double this pledge to 2% of profits for the month of June. They have all ready donated more than $220,000.
- Winky Lux – 22% of every sale during the month of June will go to the Stonewall Foundation which funds 200 LGBTQ+ non-profits a year
- E.L.F. Cosmetics – 100% off the proceeds from the Limited Edition Big Moods Pride Mascara will go to support the It Gets Better Project.
- NudeSTIX – Committing $10,000 donation to GLAAD
- Em Cosmetics – All orders will receive a free infinite lip cloud in shade love and they will donate a free lip product as well.
- ColourPop – On June 2, all net profits from the sale of the Fade Into Hue palette were donated to the Black AIDS Institute. This one bothers me a little for a few reasons:
- They announced they were doing this at 6am on June 2. I didn’t even see the e-mail that day. Op. Too late. I feel like they are hoping people won’t notice this detail and buy the palette thinking the proceeds will be donated when they won’t be. Feels like trickery.
- AIDS awareness is a great cause to support, but this cause during pride month seems like it would reinforce stereotypes in regards to homosexuals and AIDS. I’m not apart of the community, so who am I to judge, but it puts a bad taste in my mouth. During a word association game, if someone says homosexual, and the next person says AIDS, I think the next person might say, “f*** you.” This is more of an October charity or a year around charity, but specifically for Pride? Eeek.
- Well People – Customers can donate at checkout to the It Gets Better Project

Please note: Obviously there are so many more! These are just the brands that out right spoke about pride month and sent out e-mails about it. If there is more time in the future, I will create a separate category!
