- Would I buy it? No
- Would buying it be a good idea for me? No
- Why or why not? Yes, I did say no to the questions above, but I do like this palette. I’m not really into the whole “UBU” thing, but I understand why they said that as the colors are like wearable versions of a rainbow palette which I appreciate. The placement of the shadows gives me hardcore solar system vibes which I get sounds incredibly random, but omg, how cool would a solar system collection be? From the right brand, I literally would buy the damn $200 PR package if done right. I wouldn’t buy this palette because I would only use half the colors and since that’s not a majority, I got to stop myself.
Space Collection Ideas Below
Space Collection ideas start here: There’s literally a color associated with every planet. Wearable versions of those colors for the palette, then super fun like subtle metallic face and lip products. Kinda like Rituel de Fille does with their nectar pigment balm (everything they make is pure gold). All in like black or clear plastic packaging to meet our recycling needs. Beseech my heart. They could like do glitter gels with galaxy names and highlighters with names of different kind of stars. A voluminous black mascara called like Supermassive Black (supermassive black hole). Include space vinyl stickers. I’d have a nerdgasm for sure. Gotta work a supernova in there some where, but the product has to be something super awesome. Not just something thrown together or some generic black. Maybe a shimmer body mist that when you shake it a bunch of colors swirl around inside.
The PR packaging could be like a pop up book and when you open it, it’s the solar system – or do this for the eye shadow palette. Kind of like the old Urban Decay Book of Shadows. Or if they wanted to over do it, they could have it where when someone opens up the PR package, it could have like star lights in it (think like a lite bright without the pegs). Call it like lost in space or something less copyright in fringy.
Can you imagine? What colors did you use on your eyes? “Well, I used Venus and a bit of Jupiter, then just one coat of Supermassive Black.” But the collection can’t just be thrown together. It needs to have time put into it where the items become staples of the brand instead of limited edition garbage pieces.
I love space though.
