Too Faced came out with Kissing Jelly Lip Oil Gloss. So much going on in that name. Prepare for a lot of overthinking.
Is it jelly, oil, or gloss?
The only gel in these are ingredients normally used in lip oils and glosses to thicken them enough for application. It states that it is an oil and gloss hybrid. Here’s what I think they are meaning: Lip oils are considered a thin less sticky version of lip gloss. Lip gloss has more color pay off than lip oil. Essentially when they say jelly, they mean is has the consistency of a gloss with the sheer non-sticky texture of a lip oil.
So, it’s a sheer lip gloss and in some ways it has the appearance of gel because it’s thick and clear. Just say hydro lip jelly or lip jelly next time if you want to be creative, OK? No more, identifying three different lip products in one. Just call it what it is: hydrogel or gloss. It’s not a lip oil if it’s thick like jelly. It has a flavoring, so jelly would be ok, but Jelly Oil Gloss? Come on.
