Prepare for PINK – So ColourPop didn’t do a collab for…about a month and a half, so that’s progress, but this collab seems greatly out of touch with what consumers currently like. Another childish theme with very little appeal to the current makeup user. It would have been nice if they didn’t make this relate to Barbie at all, but make it relate to the city of Malibu or just southern California. I want to press the design undo button. Their customers are maturing and deserve a collection that will make them feel more classy. As a whole, the products themselves are appealing, but I actually want to buy it less because of the theme.
There’s videos of them driving around sharing their products with the stereotypical pretty girl. I didn’t see any men who got it. No bigger girls. All stylish women of a short and lean stature. I found it quite annoying. It showed who they prefer. It was a cute idea, but driving around rich areas and giving things to rich people makes me want to flip them off.
- Would I buy it? No
- Would buying it be a good idea for me? No
- Why or why not? It’s actually sad because I like the lip kit in dreamhouse, and the colors of the palette are absolutely perfect for me, but I need to stop myself here because it would be absolutely hypocritical of me to feel negatively about a brands choice of collab and advertising practice, then turn around and buy the product anyway. There are so many brands to try, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to try them all.
